ABUS Nordic

In 1924, August Bremicker and his sons created the iconic ABUS padlock, the “Iron Rock”. More than 100 years later, ABUS has grown into a global company with over 4,000 employees worldwide. The company remains family-owned and is today led by the fourth and fifth generations of the Bremicker family.

Today, ABUS operates within a 360° security universe across three main categories: cycling locks and helmets, padlocks and locking systems, and electronic security solutions such as alarm systems and video surveillance.

Within the cycling category, ABUS has expanded significantly. What began with the first ABUS bicycle lock has developed into a strong presence in both locks and helmets, making ABUS a very common sight among children, commuters, and even athletes within road, off-road, and gravel cycling.

Nationally and internationally, ABUS has also established a strong reputation through its high-performance “Made in Italy” helmets, used by national and local teams as well as professional cycling teams such as Q36.5 and Movistar. ABUS is also a security partner to Alpecin–Deceuninck.

For ABUS, it is essential to develop high-quality locks that can be insurance-approved and helmets that meet the needs of everyday cyclists, children, commuters, athletes, and cycling enthusiasts.
